Weather limits gas deliveries; Jefferson County fuel businesses impacted by travel limitations

The weekends winter weather created a gas shortage in Jefferson County and other Puget Sound communities. Chimacum Chevron, the most used and usually least expensive station in Jefferson County, ran out of fuel Monday because delivery has been delayed by bad weather. Several other local gas stations had empty tanks over the weekend.

Ballot returns at 58.5 percent

The early return of Jefferson County ballots for the Nov. 4 general election is already nearing the level of a typical election year. Jefferson County issued 22,114 ballots for the Nov. 4 election. As of Thursday, Oct. 30, 12,934 (58.5 percent) had been returned. The county typically has voter turnout of about 62 percent.
