The Small Business Administration South Dakota District Office has set a new record for approving the largest dollar volume of loans to state businesses in the history of the SBA’s lending programs. During the 12 months ending Sept. 30, SBA supported 291 loans totaling more than $71 million.

Homestake water level 15 feet below 5,000-foot level

The water level at the Sanford Underground Laboratory at Homestake was 5,015 feet underground on Monday, down 7 feet from a week ago. The South Dakota Science and Technology Authority is pumping water out of the former Homestake gold mine at Lead to convert it into a deep underground laboratory.
